Hi Maria and thanks so much for sharing your Vanilla and Raspberry Marble Cake recipe; I had been trawling the GABO website looking for it and can’t wait to try it! Good luck in the competition! 🙂

Hi Fiona, Thank you so much. I hope your enjoying the show and you enjoy making the cake too. I will post a few more pictures on how to construct it as well. Kindest Regards Maria x

Thanks for your reply Maria! Yes, I’m really enjoying the show and am hoping to pick up some tips, tricks and delicious recipes along the way! I would love to see some pictures of your cake construction as I have some difficulty in achieving a smooth surface when joining cakes (the ‘line’ between the layers seems to show through the fondant). Understanding how you’ve constructed your cake might help me overcome this. Again, thanks for your generosity and best of luck for continued success in the competition! Fiona 🙂

Hi Maria! I have a friend here in Qld that has a lot of strawberries and wants to make some jam. Would you have a recipe for strawberry jam? Michelle 😃

    • Maria Vella

Hi YUM I love strawberries too. Michelle the best thing to do is to go to your local supermarket and buy a packet of Jam setter the instructions on the back will give you accurate measurements for sugar and fruit quantities. I always like to add a little lemon juice about a Tablespoon full to intensify the flavour and add just a little sharpness to cut through all the sweetness. jams are a great way to preserve and experiment with flavours at this moment I making Cumquat jam….yum! 🙂 I hope this helps kindest regards Maria

Dearest Maria, my daughter & I were lucky enough to meet you today at The Cake Bake Show (Saturday 4th). We were 2 of your taste testers. Your Twix Cake was amazing. You are such a lovely person & we had fun having a dance to. We are not on Facebook to view the photo’s taken of the group of taste testers on stage with you. Could you kindly email it to me. I can’t thank you enough. Again thank you for a memorable day xxx
